Be still my beating heart! I just got a letter today from the JABberwocky Agency in New York in reply to my query letter. It asked to see some pages!
Maybe I’m getting the hang of this query-letter thing after all.
JABberwocky is a great agency, and the agent I approached, Eddie Schneider, looks like a great fit for this book (TimeSplash!) so my fingers and toes are all crossed.
When I’ve calmed down a little, I’ll put the package together to send to him.
Thanks to the ever-giving Marianne de Pierres for the recommendation.

Oh wow, that’s fantastic! Fingers crossed for you!
Whee-ho!! Good on you, mate, bloody well done.
My eyes are improving, I plan to print your novel out in large font and work trough it a bit at a time – I’m not being noble, there is a total lack of large print books in the library for sci-fi. Westerns and romance abound.
So I thought to myself, I have a perfectly spledid story right here in Timespash!, read the damn thing.

great image on the book cover. where did you get it?
Thanks, Jenny. I concocted the image myself. I found the Edwardian gentleman on Wikipedia while I was researching for the book. He’s from 1906 rather than 1902 but is close enough. I added a mean-looking crash helmet I found in a crash-helmet catalogue (which I modified to look like a pencil drawing). Finally, I gave it a sepia tint.
Artwork isn’t at all my thing, but this one turned out OK.
Yay! I am keeping everything crossed for you – fingers, toes, toddler, everything!
Emma, I’ll let you know the outcome as soon as possible – so you can uncross that toddler!
