Time and Tyde

(synopsis, first chapter)

This psychological thriller, set in the present day, tells the story of Vince Demarco, a man whose life is utterly destroyed by the persistent interference of a stranger claiming to be a researcher from the future. While there is never any solid evidence for the truth of this claim, the increasingly strange and disturbing events that befall Vince drive him to the point of madness.

Being insane and being visited by an amoral jerk from the future turn out not to be all that different. Whether he believes his troubles are down to one or the other, for Vince Demarco the outcome is just the same. His life is destroyed, everyone he loves is hurt or lost, and he is left with nothing but the promise of a glorious posterity.

Cargo Cult

(synopsis, first chapter)

I bring you a vision of fourteen naked Lindsay Lohan clones laying waste to Brisbane’s CBD, just one incident in this  fast-paced and gripping yarn of overconfident aliens, overambitious humans, and cosmic stupidity.

When an alien space-ship crashes outside Brisbane, the survivors set off to the city to convert the humans to their very unpleasant religion. But the aliens aren’t very bright and the attempt soon turns into a police chase and a seige in a remote farmhouse. And it is to that same farmhouse that an ambitious young reporter and her brother take one of the aliens, whom they believe to be a drugged and confused Lindsay Lohan, only to be caught up in the seige when the rest of the aliens turn up – also looking like Lindsay Lohan.

Another group of aliens – this lot looking like kangaroos – also gets caught up in the police action and a major battle ensues. Only The Agent, an artificial life-form sent to arrest the Lindsay Lohan lookalikes, can bring any order, but the alien’s space-ship, itself an illegal machine intelligence, has other plans.
